The SCI Annual Event took place on 27 January 2016 on the occasion of the publication of the 2nd Annual Report. It gathered around 100 participants representing registered companies, national and European associations and EU officials, mainly from the European Commission and the Parliament.

The event started with a workshop on exchanging good practices and sharing experiences. The speakers were the following

• Pierre Pelouzet, Business Relations Ombudsman, France
• Tobias Andres, Head of Brussels Office, Federation of German Food and Drink Industries, Germany
• Götz Brandau, Acting Head of Brussels Office, Retail Federation, Germany
• Illya Van den Borre, Vice President Corporate Affairs, Delhaize Belgium

A high-level session followed and the speakers were the following:

• Carl-Christian Buhr, Member of Commissioner Hogan’s Cabinet, European Commission
• Carlo Pettinelli, Director for Consumer, Environmental and Health Technologies, DG Growth, European Commission
• Frans Egberts, Managing Director, Henri Van De Bilt
• Rupert Schädler, Member of the Kaufland Management Board responsible for buying (presentation in English and in German)
